Facebook Data Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 June 2026

This policy explains how Turn Digital, SIA (“we”, “us”, “our”), operator of the SchoolioWP website platform, accesses and uses data from Facebook (Meta) on behalf of schools that use our platform. It applies to the Facebook Page import feature, which allows a school to display its own Facebook Page’s public posts on its school website.

Who this applies to

This applies only to the school administrator who connects a Facebook Page to a SchoolioWP website. We do not collect Facebook data from visitors to school websites, and we do not access the personal Facebook profiles of people who interact with a school’s Page.

Each school operates its own website (on its own domain), and connects and controls its own Facebook Page independently of other schools.

What we access and why

When a school administrator logs in with Facebook, we request the following permissions, used strictly to import and display that school’s own Page posts:

  • pages_show_list – to show the administrator the list of Pages they manage so they can choose which Page to import from.
  • pages_read_engagement – to read the published posts and their images from the selected Page.
  • business_management – to also find Pages owned by the administrator’s Business Portfolio, so those Pages appear in the selection list.

We use this access on a read-only basis. We do not post, edit, delete, or send messages on Facebook on anyone’s behalf.

What data we store

For each connected school we store, within that school’s own website:

  • A Page Access Token for the selected Page, stored encrypted (AES-256) in the website’s database and used to fetch posts
    during scheduled syncs.
  • The selected Page ID and Page name.
  • The content of public posts from the Page (text and images), which is copied into the school website as news articles and image attachments for public display.
  • Basic operational data, such as the time of the last sync.

We do not store Facebook login credentials, profile information, friend lists, or any private/non-public data.

How the data is used

Imported public posts are displayed on the school’s own website as news content. The data is not sold, rented, or shared with any third party, and is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than displaying the school’s own Page content on its own website.

Data retention and deletion

Connections and data are managed per school and per Page — actions taken by one school do not affect any other school.

  • The stored access token and connection settings remain until the school administrator disconnects the Page or removes the integration.
  • An administrator can use the “Delete All Imported” function in the website’s settings to remove all imported posts and images at any time.
  • To revoke our access entirely, an administrator can remove our app SchoolioWP – School News in Facebook under Settings → Business Integrations.
  • To request deletion of any data held under this integration, contact us at peteris@turn.lv. We will action the request within 30 days.
